Embracing Melbourne's Iconic state library as the centre of the event, the purpose behind the exciting project proposal is to invoke an interest in books and local libraries as a place to interact through learning. Supported by the city of Melbourne, we wanted to create an event that encourages a younger and diverse community to come along and share the beautiful surroundings and inspire an interest to read and share books.
Community | Vibrant | Classic
The Novela Book Fair was designed to share, sell, and exchange books for a varied audience, from bookworms to bookshop owners.
We experimented with Ink splat expressions on a prominent colour to create contrast - Orange, black and white. The ink expressions had to be adaptable across multiple mediums such as merchandising and online, so it was important to create a design that will remain classic as well as be able to evolve it for future events, by simply changing the colour scope.
The proposed campaign was developed to be scaled large and attract crowds by using bright, bold colours and clever positioning of city posters close by where the event was to take place.
